Summer Adventures!

Well this has turned into a very productive summer for the three sisters. May ended with a trip to LA to visit Ko, and then a trip from LA to Hawaii! My first journey over an ocean, and I am happy to say it all went flawlessly. Unfortunately, as I was getting ready to leave Hawaii, Lit was on another plane to LA to visit our favourite red-head. That means it has been over a month now since I've seen my baby sister! Ah well, hopefully she'll have some good stories from her adventures as well.

The first Lit and Ko picture from some California beach. Aren't they adorable?

Ko and I happen to be art history fanatics, so a trip to The Getty was in order. Of course, some sister pictures were necessary as well.

I was quite fond of the little owl, lurking in the background.

And I always love sculpture, especially those of real people. Quite envious of that hair!

The Hawaii stop was full of hours spent on the beach, snorkeling (I went swimming with a sea turtle!), and hiking in absolutely lovely locations. I feel so spoiled! I definitely want to take Lit there as soon as an opportunity arises.

We Miss Ko

But we made a new friend to pass the time until she's home.

Belated Holidays

So, why wasn't there an update for holiday adventures, you ask? Well... It was the holidays!

Of course we left everything 'til the minute, but I still managed to get Lit into a festive costume. Doesn't she make the cutest little elf?

On Christmas Eve we, meaning Lit and our mother, ventured into the depths of the crawl-space to recover hoards of decorations. Hey, for a last-minute family I think we do a pretty good job, don't you? At least we didn't wait until after Christmas to get a tree, much like I waited to write this!

Pretty lights and all of my favourite people in the same house. Ko was home from her adventures just in time to greet our grandmother from California. Yes, it was a lovely way to end the year. Hear that 2010? You have a lot to live up to!

At The Stanley

So, while Ko and our mother were in New York, Lit and I spent a night in the famous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Considered one of the most haunted buildings in the state, and also the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining, we couldn't resist the opportunity to explore all the little nooks and crannies (even though we don't believe in ghosts)!

Our first order of business was the ghost tour. On our journey through the hotel we saw the piano played by John Philip Sousa, Bob Dylan, and the ghost of Mrs. Stanley(!).

We learned that children were sequestered on the fourth floor, and that if you're staying in one of those rooms, you are supposed to leave candy for the playful spirits! Of course, if your candy DOES disappear, it might have more to do with a couple of silly guests than any ghosts...

The highlight of the tour? When yours truly received the dubious honour of portraying maid Elizabeth Wilson-- the woman responsibly for accidentally blowing up part of the hotel!

After the tour Lit and I abused our new-found knowledge of the hotel's history for a few impromptu photo shoots. My love of staircases could not be suppressed!

And I even convinced Lit to participate as well!

Though it is possible she was possessed....

Oh well, we had fun anyway! It may have only been for a night, but we still managed to take 200+ photos. Ko may have enjoyed New York, but I can't be too jealous! Perhaps I'll even write my own novel inspired by the hotel... Tehe!

The First Adventure

After much consideration, I have finally decided to start a blog. I know, I know, but I have a good reason! You see, being the eldest of three sisters, I have realized it is my duty to record our idiocy for prosperity. So this is the introductory post!

Having just spent a lovely few days with Lit in the famous Stanley Hotel, I will be making yet another post just as soon as I have properly uploaded and formatted our plethora of photos. Thank you for visiting, and I hope to see (Meep! Yes, I am currently stalking you. Creepy...) you again soon!
